SCHOOL BOXING
EVENTS AT KOHIMARAMA A high standard ; of boxing was shown by pupils of tho Kohimarama school at a tournament yesterday to end the boys' instruction for the soason. Fifteen contests were held aud, contrary to expectations, the boys did not forget their scientific instruction and throw' punches at each other, but boxed exceedingly well. The r&sults are as follows:—G. Warkaft beat Is. Stevens, B. Frankham and G. Collie drew, K. Olson beat G. Goodacre, J. Adams beat B. Craig, J. Bigg-Wither beat R. Rathbone, D. Mills and G. Vendt drew, D. Erkkila beat M. Nicholas, W.. Fraser beat G. Vendt, A. Reid boat D. Nicholls, F. Petty beat S. Adams. J. Todd beat W. Carroll. J. Home beat A. Lovatt, W. Fraser beat J. Western, A. Reid beat A. Strickett, J, Erkkila beat J. McNabb. Mr. Carr, headmaster,' thanked the officials of the Auckland Boxing Association for their co-operation during the months of instruction. Mr. S. Burke was referee and Mr. A. B. Jop-1 lin was timekeeper. |
