CRICKET SEASON

SENIOE CHAMPIONSHIP SEVENTH SERIES TO-DAY' STRONG ARMY SIDE AVAfLABLE The Auckland Cricket Association's senibr championship competition will bo advanced a further stage with tho seventh series this afternoon. A contest which should prove interesting to watch is that between Eden and Grafton on No. 1 wicket. These teams are well up on the points table and, with reliable players in most departments of tho game, have distinct possibilities of taking the final honours. The result is in doubt, and the contest should bo hard-fought. With such experienced and proved players as R. E. J, Meiizies, W. N. Strachan, C. Sneddon, B. H. Warner and R. W. Jessup available for to-day, the Papakura Camp elevfin matched with Parnoll on No. 2 wicket should give a sound display. Tho three first-named have taken part in I'lunket Shield play. University may not have much difficulty against Middlemore on No. 3 wicket, but tho latter is capable of putting up a solid front and may givo University trouble. PonsonbyBalmoral and Y.M.C.A. will meet on No. 4 wicket, while the championship leader, North Shore, is opposed to Training College at Devonport. WAIOURU MAKES 203.
