WELFARE OF ANIMALS
The annual meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Auckland, was held in the Overseas League rooms last night, when there was an attendance of 31. After considerable discussion the balancesheet, which showed an excess of income over expenditure of £l<6, was adopted. On the motion of Mr. tt. Hardv. the committee was requested to bring'down a report as to the possibility of establishing a building fund. Ibe committee also was granted permission to spend up to £4OO on the purchase of an up-to-date ambulance. New officers elected were Mr. S. oil - field, who replaced ]\lr. V. R. Meredith us president, and Mr. H. M. Spencer, who was appointed honorary auditor in place of Mr. M. D. Gray.
