]'repara<ions are now complete for firing of),0001b. of gelignite at. the limestone quarry of the Wilsons Cement Company at Portland. This is one of the largest, shots that, have been fired at the quarry and it is anticipated that, about L'-'iO.OOO tons of limestone will be brought, down by the explosion. One thousand eases of gelignite have been placed in -10 long holes of about six inches in diameter, these holes having been driven from the top of the quarry face to the foot, a distance of over 200 ft.
