DROWNED IN DRAIN

FATE OF FARM WORKER (0.C.) WHAKATANE, Monday A farm worker, Mr, John Hill, aged 30, single, was found drowned in Sin. of water in a drain at Paroa. Deceased's head was in the water and the body on the turf. At an inquest Sergeant Farrel stated that he knew deceased, who was subject to seizures. The indications were that a sudden seizure had resulted in deceased rolling so that his face became submerged, and while unconscious he was suffocated. Deceased had left the farm on which he was working to attend the Tauranga races and then to visit relatives in Auckland. The inquest was adjourned.
