OLD NUMBERS DIALLED

THOUSANDS STILL WRONG Large numbers of people yesterday continued to dial telephone numbers which are now not in use. Up to 10 p.m. the total handled by the special staff answering them was just under 9000. However, a large volume of wrong numbers had been anticipated on the first business day of tho change and no congestion was caused to the system. A complaint was made yesterday by a subscriber that about 17 pages had been omitted from her new directory. Postal officials said a few cases of this kind were bound to occur, Only about half a dozen had been reported and the faulty directories had been replaced.
