CABLES TO TROOPS

NEW SYSTEM INTRODUCED The new standard text system of cablegrams to members of tho Army, Navy and Air Force serving abroad came into operation yesterday. It was marked by an appreciable increase in the number of cablegrams sent to members of the forces, but postal officials said it was too early to tell whether this indicated a permanent increase in traffic. A largo number of inquirers sought details of the system for future use. Cards setting out the standard toxts from which threo can be selected for 2s 6d were on display at all post offices yesterday, but the folders for distribution to the public are not yet available. They are expected to arrive shortly.
