MINED AMERICAN SHIP

SOME OF CREW IN CITY Twenty -one of the officers and crew of the American freighter City of Rayville, sunk by an enemy mine off Cape Otway, at the western approaches to Melbourne, early last month, are at present in Auckland. They include the master. Captain A. P. Cronin. The City of Rayville, the first United States vessel lost as a result of the war, was sunk just after dark, disappearing in a few minutes. Ail except one of the crew were rescued by naval and fishing vessels. Some of tlie crew have already returned to America. Those now in Auckland will bo repatriated to New York.
