A PURCHASE OF PETROL
COUPON NOT SURRENDERED [from ouh own correspondent] WHANG AREI, Monday Charged with failing to stirrendor the appropriate coupon when purchasing four gallons of motor spirit, at Auckland on Juno 1, John Laughlin Fuller Sweeney, aged 21, was fined £2 by Mr. Raymond Ferner, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court at Wliangarei today. The magistrate said that in fixing tbo penalty lie was giving consideration to tiie fact that defendant would bo entering military camp next week.
Senior-Sergeant A. Henderson said that wlien purchasing benzine at Auckland Sweeney offered an old coupon. Ho told the service station attendant that he would post the new coupon from Whangorei, but had failed to do so until July, after having been communicated with by the Oil Fuel Controller.
