Thursday An ntmosphere suggestive of Hollywood characterised the Civic Theatre on the occasion of the first movie hall to 1)0 held in Pntarnrn. Many wellknown stars were represented. A large number of people attended the bull. The manager of the theatre, Mr. A. Fountain, was in charge of the arrangements. During the evening a number of prizes was awarded, Mr. H. F. Alloway being the judge. The following were the prize-winners:— Best Motion-picture Sot.—R. Murphy. T. Davis ami A. Liscombe as the Ritz Brothers, 1 ; Miss Ella Martin, Miss Ailren Bnrkivortli and Miss (Jxven Priest, as "Three Smart Girts," consolation prize, G. L. Farrelly and partners, in "Hoys' Town" set. Best Movie Couple.—J. B. Rolfe and Miss E. Aslilon as Robin Hood and Maid Marian. I; B. J. Farrelly and Miss I. Stephenson as Paul Muni and Luisc Rainer in the "Good Earth."

Best Screen Star, male.—O. V. S'chalz as Charlie Chaplin, 1 ; C. MrCurr.ui as Mickey Rooney in "Huckleberry Finn." Female: Miss B. Marsh as Bette Davis in "Jezebel." I ; Mrs. V. L. Druinniond as yountr Queen Victoria in "Victoria the Great," 2.
