SOLDIER'S FAREWELL
Sir, —Cannot the authorities in charge of our boys going away make different arrangements for the relatives of them for farewell ? Last night my son came from the North to go to Burnham and went to the ticket office at the station to buy platform tickets, but was told that there were no tickets and that I would have to take my chance to get on. As a mother of six sons, all ready to enlist, I suggest that relatives only be allowed at the train and a charge be made, the money to go for comforts for our boys. A number of ns last night could not get near the train to say good-bye —a heart-break for any mother. After last night I hope the authorities will do something. A Mother. October 5, 1939.
