RAILWAY STAFF
TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS RESULT OF RETIREMENTS A number of officers stationed at Auckland were included in a list of Railway Department transfers and promotions announced on Saturday. The changes are tho result of retirements which occurred early in the year, and it is intended to carry them into effect as soon as possible. , The post of assistant district traffic manager is to be filled by Mr. G. S. Reid, at present assistant traffic manager, while Mr. W. T. Hornibrooke, transport officer, will succeed him in tho latter position. Mr. R. Campbell, train running officer at Wellington, has been transferred to the position of transport officer at Auckland, and Mr. P. H. Curtis, train running officer at Auckland, has been promoted to transport officer at Wanganui. His. place at Auckland will ho filled by Mr. A. V. Finlay, of tho train running staff. Mr. S. D. Munn, train control operator, who has been transferred to Christchurch as train running officer, will be succeeded bv Mr. L. A. Cooke, stationmaster at Kaikolie. Mr. J. H. IJrwin, clerk at Masterton, is to be stationmaster at Kaikoho. Mr. C. J. Symonds, train control operator at Wangjuimt, has been transferred to the traffic manager's office at Auckland.
