Wild Chase and Trench Fight wore sent sis; furlongs at a strong pace and the remainder of the Cliokobore brigade restricted to useful work. After the interval there were not manj' serious gallops, as most of tho horses to, go tor Ivurow and Wingatui raced, at the Geraldine meeting. H. Nurgo intends to take Financiere, Kilrobe, Palmyra and Rousseau to Kurow. The first-named three will race thero and Rousseau will accompany Kilrobo and Palmyra to Wingatui, while Financiere will be sent home. RousseaU has not raced for some time, but ho has boon in steady work, and present intentions are to continue his New Zealand Cup engagement. Today he was seen to advantage in a o-ailop over seven furlongs with Palmyra and should do well at Wingatui. Dictate, who has had an easy time since the Grand National meeting, was sent a strong five furlongs with Financiere. Dictate is to have his next race at Trentham. His owner, Mr. "M. O'Brien, will leave Wellington on Thursday for Sydney and Melbourne, and he hopes to return in time for tho Wellington meeting. Disdain, who has been under oiler to an Australian inquirer, will bo given a race at the Banks Peninsula meeting on October 29 as a preliminary to engagements at tho Now Zealand Gup meeting. . Among horses given strong work wer<- Kinnoull and Grey Honour. Tho former did not suffer any ill-effects from his hard face at Ashlnirton and he is expected to bo ill good order for the Wellington meeting. Grey Honour, who has previously raced well at Trentham, is in great heart. To-day lie gave his trainer, D. Cotton, a busy half-hour before he would settle down. A two-year-old. brother to Haerepo is beginning to shape satisfactorily. The dam, Azalea, last week produced a filly foal to Nightmarch. P. V. Mason is also busv wit-li Mr. A. Loui.sson s two-vear-old filly Stylist, by Nightmarch from Prido. She is solidly-built and is not to bo hurried. . Haughty Winner is again m work. RETURN OF DUNGARVAN engagement at otaki ACCOMPLICE GALLOPS WELL [I)V TELEGRAPH —OWN COHHF.BPONDKNT] WELLINGTON, Tuesday It is 18 months since Dungarvan raced, hut ho is due to reappear m the Hema To Ao Handicap, seven furlongs, at Otaki on Saturday. He has been in work ,soino timo and, with Alunga, was responsible for the best gallop over seven furlongs at Trentham this morning. Dungarvan is now a six-yoar-old and ho may need a bit of racing to bring him to form. Trentham-trained horses have .been conspicuous by their absence from the winning list lately, hut with improvement in the weather the tracks have recovered and enabled moro solid work to bo done. Tho plough is again in use and better results are anticipated at -forthcoming meetings. Accomplice has improved with her race at Foxton and, although she is not a good track worker, she galloped well over six furlongs to-day with the English horse, Royal Star 11., who looks likely to bo a useful racehorse. Hof'al Star TL. has plenty of speed and H. Telford is very pleased with him .so far. The two-vonr-olds scon at Wangnnui and Marton liavo not been impressive and class has been lacking. Trentham has a couple of smart youngsters, Bean Vito and the colt by Beau Pere from Passbook. Unfortunately Bean Vite did not get an opportunity of showing his pace at Marton, as he was left at tho post.. The Passbook colt is a solid customer, who will mako his appearance at Masterton. He is somowhat like Gay Son, and on what he has dono so far he has exceptional pace.
