ALLEGED OVER-PAYMENT
BOARD MEMBERS' EXPENSES VAIN REQUEST FOR REFUND [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] THAMES, Tuesday A letter was received at the Thames Hospital Board meeting to-day from tho Auditor-General, asking if a refund had been made by two members of the old Waihi Hospital Board of 30s each, alleged over-payment made to them for their expenses in attending the hospital commission at Paeroa. Previous letters had been received from the Auditor-General drawing the board's attention to two payments of £2 10s made by the Waihi board and to which exception was taken when the Waihi balance-sheet was audited. Both the ex-members had been written to, but had riot replied. The board decided to advise tho Auditor-General that it was unable to collect the amounts and to ask what further steps should be taken.
