TEMPERANCE UNION

AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE The monthly meeting of the Auckland district executive of the Women's Christian Temperance I'nion was held on Monday. The president, Miss L. -M. Head, presided. The sum collected at the Women's Christian Temperance Union stall in connection with the Young Men's Christian Association street appeal this year was £8 17s 5d and members decided to take a stall to assist the combined orphanages' street appeal at the end of July. Arrangements were made to hold the annual district convention in September. The report of the activities of the National Council of Women was given bv Miss Head. Mrs. H. Kasper spoke of her recent trip to North Auckland, where she visited the unions at Te Kopuru. Whangarei. Dargaville and Maiingakaramea. Letters of sympathy were sent to the relatives of the late Mr. H. H. French, of Hastings, and the late Mrs. Hutchinson, of Auckland.
