WHITE—DALLIMORE BRIDE'S CHARMING GOWN MAIDS IN PALE GREEN The wedding of Miss Marjorie Ward Dallimore, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Dallimore, of Epsom Avenue, Auckland, and Mr. Clarence Charles White, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. White, of Mount Albert, took place on Saturday evening at Covenant Hall, East Street. The ceremony 'ivas performed by the bride's father, Mr. A. li. Dallimore, and the wedding music was played by Mr. Ewart Lytic. The church was effectively decorated with arum lilies and palms. The bride, who entered the church with her brother. Mr. H. Dallimore, wore a frock of parchment siitin, fashioned on princess lines, with softly folded and shirred bodice, long closefitting sleeves, and a train ornamented from neckline to hem with self-covered buttons. The long ivory veil was bordered with Chantilly lace, and she carried a bouquet of orchids, freesias. roses and maiden hair. The matron of honour, Mrs. J. A. Dallimore, and the bridesmaids, Miss Eva Stanslield, -Miss Verna Alabone and Miss Doris Brown, wore similar frocks of pale green coltxkin taffetas, with head-dresses and bouquets of cvclainen and maidenhair fern. ' Air. H. Saw tell was best man, and Mr. E. T. White, Mr. F. 0. Johanscn and Mr. J. A. Dallimore groomsmen. Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was held in the Mount Eden Kiosk, where the guests were received by Mrs. A. H. Dallimore. wearing a frock of black velvet embossed chiffon. Site was assisted by Mrs. I. White, wearing an ensemble of black crepe satin and wool crepe de chine. The bride travelled in a smart ensemble of dark rust maroeain, with navy overcoat and hat and accessories to match. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. White will reside at Waitoa. CLOSE—AITCHISON Autumn flowers and foliage decorated the Presbyterian Church, Durie Hill, Wanganui. for tho wedding on June :2S of Miss Charlotte Jessie Aitchison, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Aitchison, of "Windgrove," No. 2 Line, to Mr. James Alexander Close, eldest son of .Mrs. P. Close and the late Mr. Arthur Close, Bay of Islands. The Kev. A. C. McLean performed the ceremony and Mrs. A. T. Hil, of Manukaii. played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a graceful frock of magnolia satin and angelskin lace, fashioned on classical lines, I lie tulla veil, arranged to the head with orange blossoms, fell in soft folds to form a train. She can'ied a bouquet of white freesias, Christinas roses and maidenhair fern finished with silver streamers. Miss Jean Aitchison. the bride's sister, was bridesmaid. She wore a irock of apricot lace and georgette made in redingote style, and a head-dress of apricot flowers. Her bouquet was of apricot shaded roses, stock and carnations, with silver streamers. Mr. Nathan Shera Close, of Auckland. was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at Dustin's tea rooms. The guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Aitchison. assisted by Mrs. P. Close, The bride's mother wore a frock of wine maroeain with gold trimming and hat to match. The bridegroom's mother was wearing a frock of save blue maroeain trimmed with floral georgette, and toiling hat. When Mr. and Mrs. Close left for their wedding tour the bride was wearing a brown tailored costume, toning hat, fur and accessories. In the- evening the bride's parents entertained a number of friends at a dance held at their home.

RIDDFLL—GARDNFR The wedding was celebrated 011 Saturday afternoon at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, of Miss Jessie Winifred Gardner, only daughter of Mrs. F. Gardner, of Hamilton, and Dr. Claude Percival Stuart .Riddell, only son of Mrs. F. Riddell, of "Wellington. The ceremony was performed by tho Rev. H. G. Gilbert and Mr. E. H. Apthorp played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brother, .Air. .). Gardner, wore a lovely gown of heavy, pearl-tinted satin cut oil classical lines. The bodice was fashioned with a high-mounted waistline and a cowl neck. The long sleeves, which finished in a point over the hand, were trimmed with satin huttons to the elbow and the skirt fell to form a long, circular train. Her tulle veil was held to the head by a topknot of orchids and a sheaf of arum lilies was carried. In attendance as bridesmaids were Dr. Margaret Riddell, of Wellington, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Lucy Lopdell, who wore picture frocks of clover taffetas fashioned with full skirts finished with large bows of clover velvet in front. Tho bodices had heartshaped necklines and full gathered sleeves. Top-knots of cyclamen flowers and short veils of clover net were worn 011 their hair and they carried Victorian posies. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. 10. McLellan as best man, and Mr. R. Gardner, brother of the bridegroom,

was groomsman. The ushers were Mr. A. Gardner and Mr. C. Bvron-Powell. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Centrcway Lounge, Mrs. Gardner receiving her guests in a gown of fuschia georgette and a toning velour hat. Her posy was of cyclamen and violets. The bridegroom's mother was in a frock of gold satin and a black hat trimmed with a gold flower. Slio carried a posy of golden flowers. THOMAS—HA WKES A very pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Andrew's Church, Cambridge, between Miss Coral Hawkes, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .). C. Hawkes, of Kangiriri, and Mr. George Henry McDonald Thomas, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. •J. Thomas, Cambridge. The Rev. C. \Y. Chandler officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a graceful gown of magnolia satin fashioned on classical lines and falling to form a long train at the. back. The bodice was cut to form a V, with a high cowled neckline and raglan sleeves falling full to the wrist, where they were gathered into a narrow band. The veil, lent by her sister, Mrs. A. Dyson, was held in place by a pleated halo. A white prayer book and a spray of lilies-of-the-valley was carried The bridesmaids, Miss Amy Christini, of Cambridge, Miss Daphne Patterson, of Matamata, Miss Margaret Stuart, of Cambridge and Miss Margaret Holmes, of Waverlev, were dressed alike in lilac and gold respectively. Their frocks were of ripple satin, fashioned to form three folds, which were carried from the shoulder to the waist and caught on either side of the neck by jewelled clasps. They wort; halos of flowers and gold leaves and carried bouquets of 'chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Two flower girls, Dawn Dyson, and Dawn Stott, were frocked in gold stiffened nett, frilled to the waist and made with tiny puffed sleeves. They wore lilac halos and carried gold baskets of lilac flowers. A reception was afterwards held at "The Triangle" tearooms. The bride and bridegroom left later for the south, the bride wearing a tartan and black costume, Scottish hat and black accessories to tone.
