Mr. W. Goodfellow left last night for Wellington by the limited express. Dr. T. H. Pettit returned from Well, ington by train on Saturday morning. Dr. E. J. Cronin returned by Saturday's limited express from Wellington. Mr. J. Fletcher wa6 a' passenger for Wellington by last night's limited 1 express The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Justice, arrived from Wellington by < train on Saturday. Mr. B. L. Dallard, Controller-General of Prisons, arrived from Wellington b.v train on Saturday morning. He is at the Grand Hotel. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, accompanied by Mrs. Coates, spent the weekend in Auckland and returned to the North yesterday by car. The Rev. Basil C. I). Palmer, a former student at St. John's College, Auckland, and Auckland University College, has been inducted as vicar of Derry Hill, Wiltshire. Mr. W. L. Dunn, secretary of the Hawke's Bay Education Board,, has been granted leave of absence to proceed to Wellington and assist the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, with work in connection with teachers' . salaries and the staffing scale. Mr. S. J. Harbutt, chairman of the Auckland Electric-Power Board, and Mr. N. M. Spear, secretary, returned by the limited express on Saturday morning from Wellington, where they; attended a meeting of the executive of the Electric-Power Boards' Association.
