7 . Sir William Hunt, of Wellington, k at the Grand Hotel. Mr. G. H. Holford, of the Depart, ment of Agriculture, was a passenger for Wellington by the afternoon train yesterday. The Hon. M; Fagan, M.L.C., " rived from, Wellington by the limited express yesterday morning and is at Hotel Cargen.

Mr. W. H. Cocker, president of the Auckland University College, was a passenger by the limited express last night for Wellington.

Dr. G. H. Cunningham, director of the. plant diseases bureau, Mount Albert, left for Wellington last night by the limited express.

The Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., and Mrs. Perry, arrived- by the limited express from Wellington yesterday morning and are at the Grand Hotel.

Mr. A. F. Salmon, general manager of * the Gisborne Sheepfarmers' Frozen Meat and Mercantile Association Company, Limited, returned from England yesterday by the Remuera, accompanied by Jfrs. Salmon.

Captain E. S. Dawes, of London, a director of the New Zealand Shipping Companv and the Federal Steam Navigation Company, arrived from England by the Remuera yesterday on a holiday visit to New Zealand.

Paymaster-Commander K. W. James arrived at Auckland by the Remuera from England yesterday to take up an appointment as paymaster-commander on H M.S. Philomel. He was accompanied bv Mrs. James and their cliildren His last ship was the cruiser Penelope, of the 3rd .Cruiser Squadron. Mediterranean Fleet.

Mr. G. T. Wilson, traffic superintendent. and Mr. A. W. Wellsted, commercial manager, of the Railway Department, returned by the Awa tea yesterday from Sydney where they attended a conference of railway officers After the conference, they made 1 tour of the Commonwealth, visiting nl] States, except Western Australia and Tasmania. They were passengers for Wellington by tram yesterday afternoon.
