Dangerous Highway
THAMES - COROMANDEL ROAD The main highway between Thames and Coromandel is in a dangerous condition, and extreme caution is required by drivers, states a report by the Automobile Association (Auckland). The recent storm and high seas caused erosion on the coastal road for a length of approximately 12 miles, and in places the highway surface is reported to bo undermined. The Public Works Department advises that repairs are being put in hand immediately, but in the meantime motorists are warned strictly to observe any notices erected for their guidance.
