UNDEFENDED ACTIONS MANY PETITIONS HEARD VARIOUS GROUNDS ADVANCED Thirty-eight undefended divorce petitions were set down for hearing before Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday. The majority were dealt with, but because of the pressure of other matters the Court had to postpone a few of the divorce actions until to-morrow. Decrees nisi were granted to the following petitioners on the grounds of separation:—Avis Lenore Hunt (Mr. Singer) against Horace Holman Hunt; Violet May Clare (Mr. S. Clarke) against James Edward Clare; Kathleen Jean Corkery (Mr. S. Clarke) against, Maurice Joseph Corkery; Richard Selwyn Halliwell (Mr. Finlay) against Georgina Venetta Halliwell; Florence Rhoda Carnaby (Mr. Meek) against Ernest Leslie Carnabv; Catherine Christine Oakley (Mr. Meek) against Gordon Hunter William Oakley; Elsie Clarke (Mr. Singer) against Nathaniel Claude John Clarke; Doris Elma Barker (Mr. Burton) against Arthur William John Barker; Christina Patmore (Mr. Scott) against William Isaac Stephen Patmore; Albert Charles Houlthnm (Mr. Singer) against Edna May Houltham; Mary Beatrice de Roo (Mr. West) against Leopold Reginald de Roo (Mr. Wiseman); Amy Catherin Keenan (Mr. S. Clarke) against John Henry Keenan (Mr. Goldwater); Gordon Robert Waite (Mr. Manning) against Margaret Waite; Harold Llewellyn Crook (Mr. Bennett) against Edna Florence Gwendoline Crook, it being noted that both parties were now known as Knowlton; Mary Steele Josephs (Mr. Singer) against Hubert John Josephs. Decrees nisi on the grounds of adultery were granted to the following:—Douglas Duncdin Nithsdale McGregor (Mr. Bainbridge) against Edyth Lowrie McGregor and Bertie Newton Pople; Thomas Robert McGrath (Mr. Burton) against Queenie Florence Vera McGrath and John Takorei; Margaret Malcolm (Mr. Kingston) against Albert Malcolm; Ivy Bell (Mr Wvliej against Archibald Kerr Bell; Arthur Henry Smith (Mr. Scott) against Eleanor Margaret Smith (Mr. Sneddon) and Joe Brown. On the grounds that respondents had failed to comply with orders for the restitution of conjugal rights, decrees nisi were granted, as follows: Arthur Tudor Tomlinson (Mr. Singer), against Ena Elizabeth Tomlinson; William Eric Barron (Mr. Skelton) against Thelma Maud Barron; Philip Henry George La Vie (Mr. North) against Elaine Winning La Vie (Mr. Singer); Margaret Wyatt (Mr. Singer) against Frederick 'lhomas Bond Wyatt; Neva Annie Willis (Mr. Singer) against Harry Robert W illis (Mr. Meek). Desertion was proved by Allen Leonard Rice (Mr. Ennor) against his wife, Olga Grazia Rice, and a decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute within three months.
