THOROUGHBRED STOCK NO OUTSTANDING PURCHASE HIGHEST PRICE FOR FILLY AVERAGE OF 257 GUINEAS [BY TELEGRAM —FROM AHCHEIt] WELLINGTON, Wednesday Top price at the national sale of thoroughbred yearlings at Trentham today was secured for tho brown filly b.v Beau I'ere from Drama, sold on behalf of .Mr. W. 11. Stead and purchased, at lloOgfl. by Pync, Gould, Guinness Limited, as agents. The Lirnond—Watcrwings colt was bought by Mr. T. Impey. Auckland, for 1000 guineas; the Siegfried—Lilock colt by Mr, C. Wheeler, Adelaide, for 1050 guineas; the bay filly by Beau Pero from Barbacan by Pync, Gould, Guinness, Limited, as agents, for 1000 guineas and tho Foxbriilge—Hvades colt by Sir Sydney Snow and Mr. A. Lewis, Sydney, for 1000 guineas. Five lot« by Beau Pore were sold and they made 4350 guineas, an average of 870 guineas. The joint auctioneers regarded the sale as one of the best, yet held. Altogether, 128 lots were sold at an average price of 257 guineas. A fill.v by Beau Pore was passed in at 1000 guineim and it. was afterwards reported that an offer of 1250 guineas made by Mr. J. T. Jamieson, had been refused. The filly is to be retained by her breeder, Mr. G. F. Moore, and will later be trained by ,T. T. Jamieson, who was one of the most active bidders at. the sale.

It was stated that the Drama filly und the Uarbacan filly were purchased by the agents on behalf of Mr. T. H. Lowr.y, although this was not disclosed at tho ringside. Details:— Account Mrs. R.
