CRICKET SEASON

PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH WITH WELLINGTON PLAYERS CHOSEN TO PRACTISE In addition to the 12 players who have already represented Auckland in the two Plunket Shield matches played this year, 11. G. Vivian, J. B. Simpson and J. E. Mills have been selected to practice for the final match against Wellington.

Vivian made his first appearance In club cricket sinco his return from the English and Australian tour when ho made 105 not out for Parnell against North Shore' last Saturday. A log injury has kept him out of tho gamo for several weeks. Simpson and Mills are both former Auckland representatives. Simpson first played for Auckland about 12 years ago and was also a member of tho combined Auckland-Wellington side which met the touring M.C.C. team Inst season.

Buck and Harris gave Wellington a good start, but the best innincs was pljiyed by Pago, a left-hander, who mado some powerful off and cover drives in scoring 31. At stumps Wellington had lost 10 wickets for lot. The New Zealand team fielded exceptionally well. Its best bowler was M.
