SLIGHT FALL IN PRICES RECOVERY IN DANISH HIGH CHEESE VALUES Prices for butter in London arc slightly weaker on an inactive market. New Zealand choicest salted is" quoted at 108s per cwt., a fall of Is over the past week. Australian shows a slightly larger decline. On the other hand, Danish has recovered from the recent low values and now has a premium of 4s 6d per cwt. over New Zealand. Cheese values have steadily advanced for several months and are now at the highest level for a considerable time. New Zealand white shows a rise of Is on the week, while coloured is 2s higher. The basic rates fixed under the guaranteed price scheme, subject to quality differentials, are 117s 3d for butter and 63s 7d for cheese per cwt. f.o.h. New Zealand currency. The equivalent landed prices in London a're approximately 105s to 106 s "tor butter and 60s 6d for cheese. The guaranteed price for butter is equal to 12.56£>d per lb. f.0.b., and the current . London quotation is equivalent to ' approximately 12.77 d per lb. f.0.b.. New Zealand ports. A Press Association message sent from London on Thursday states that butter is inactive. Danish is quoted at 112s to 113s; choicest salted New Zealand, 108s; Australian, 106s to 107s; unsalted, Is premium. Cheese is quiet. White and coloured, New Zealand, 745; Australian, 72s to 72s 6d.
