GOLDEN DAWN MEETING Returns during the past two mouths had shown improvement, stated Mr. J. Farrell, chairman of directors of Golden Dawn Gold Alines, Limited (Owhnroa), at the annual meeting yesterday. A resolution was passed requesting the directors to continue their efforts for the abolition of tlie gold tux, particularly stressing the effects on the company. The report and balance-sheet, published in the Hkramj of May 19. were adopted. The retiring directors, Messrs. J, P. Wright and 15. M. Myers, were re-elected. The sum of £l5O was voted as honoraria to the directors.
YIELDS OF COMPANIES Talisman Dubbo (Karangahake).— 42 tons of ore were treated at the Golden Dawn battery for an approximate realisation of -X'335. Bulolo (New Guinea). —For April the total gross production amounted to 12,101 ok. of bullion, containing H3900z. of fine gold from 977,000 cubic yards, including approximately 100,000 cubic yards tailings. Estimated working profit, (50C70z. of fino gold. This production is equivalent to £73,412; and working profit to £53,086, on the basis of £8 15s (Australian) a fine ounce of gold.
REPORTS OF MANAGERS Rexrnann Mines (Coromandel). Week ended May "-'l : Durintr week the five stamper battery was dismantled and delivered to tlie site at Opitonui. The battery site was excavated and roadway cleared. The water race site was selected, and ttio water race surveyed Dnrins: the excavation work wo located two reefs at their caps, one at the east comer 12in wide and one at the west side '2tin wide, and a trial dish showed a few colours of gold. \
