CORONATION LUNCHEON
MERCANTILE AUXILIARY A Coronation luncheon arranged by the Mercantile Auxiliary Club was held yesterday. The rooms were attractively arranged with streamers of red, white and blue bunting, while large bowls of flowers in similar tonings added a further gay note to the festive scene. The tables were bright with patriotic colourings, and tall vases'of scarlet gerberas, white chrysanthemums and blue irises, entwined with ribbons of similar tonings. in the centre was a large twotier coronation cake lavishly decorated with small flags, while overhead two larger flags had been arranged. The toast of the King was proposed by Miss ivie Jennings. Miss Jean Reynolds rendered the solo "Land of Hope and Glory," all present joining with her in the chorus. A toast to "Absent Friends" was also honoured, and was proposed by Mrs. Allan Warren. Among those present were the ricepresidents, Mrs. E. L. Burton and Mrs. Alan Warren, also Mrs. Spencer Mason, Mrs. D McCrone, Miss A. Walker, Miss Taylor, Miss I. Jennings, Miss Joyce Dickey, Miss 7?ita Booth. Miss Mona Boyd, Miss Gloria Rawlinson, Miss Mar.v Smvthe, Miss Laura Edgar, Miss Hilda Dickey, Miss Jean Gaudie, Miss Alison Canavan, Miss Leslie Hynes, Miss Shirley Burcher, Miss Jean Reynolds, Miss Ailsa Vahrv, Miss Grace Hillhouse, Miss Noel Goudie, Miss G. Hills and Miss Evelyn McNeil.
