Ambler, president of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association, returned to Auckland yesterday by the Awatea, after a visit to Australia. Sir Standish o'Grady Roche, A.B.C. to the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, returned by the Awatea yesterday from a holiday visit to Australia. Mr J G L. Hewitt, S.M., chairman of the Railways Appeal Board, returned to Auckland by the limited express yesterday morning, after a visit to Wellington. Colonel C. E. Palmer, formerly Tn-spector-Gencral of Hospitals and Prison* in Assam, who is to retire shortly from the Indian Army Medical Service, arrived from Sydney by the _ Awatea yesterday on a short visit to Isowland. He was accompanied by Mrs Palmer.
