MANAWATU GORGE SLIP
HEAVY ROCKS BLOCK ROAD [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMEESTOX NORTH, Thursday Motorists proceeding through the Manawatu Gorge this morning were required to drive with, care through ft narrow cutting made in the toe of a slip which had come down about a mile from the Ashhurst end of the gorge. Several huge rocks, at least one of which was several tons in weight, were in the mass of debris which had fallen across the road.
