ELECTRICAL STORM
DAMAGE AT SUB-STATION TRANSFORMER BLOWN OUT [by telegraph—own correspondent] PAPAROA, Thursday During a violent thunderstorm yesterday morning lightning struck the power sub-station at Paparoa. blowing out one of the large transformers and running like a sheet of flame along a railway line which traversed the works.
Fortunately no one was hurt, the operator having left the room about 10 minutes before. The supply of current was interrupted, • but was restored after a short time. 1
