Conius ran home half a mile in 535, and Jed Forest went well to record 50 l-ss. Jed Forest is engaged in the maiden event at Amberley. Dictate and Greek Cold were together. well clear of Silver Sight, at the end of six furlongs in 1.19 2-5. Dictate has two engagements at Amberley, and it has not been decided which he will fulfil.

Mazzini and Gigglcswick strode over six furlongs in 1.19 4-5. Aggravate and The Grasper took 1.21 1-5, after

covering the first two in 255. Orange Hud registered 1.22, and Knoekfin 1.21 2-ss.

WALSH TERM OF SUSPENSION TO STAND [by telegraph—PitKSS association] PALMERSTOxN 7 NORTH, Thursday The decision of the Wellington District Committee in suspending the jockey J. Walsh for throe months was upheld by the Appeal Judges of the New Zealand Racing Conference to-day. On the first day of the Pahiatua Pacing Club's meeting an inquiry was held regarding the falling of Blue Mauritius in the Maiden Race, and no action was taken. The stipendiary steward. Mr. B. N. Sandilands. appealed to the Wellington District Committee and, as a result, Walsh, the rider of Gaelic Song, was suspended for three months. The Appeal Judges in their decision to-day found that the further evidence on behalf of Walsh threw no further light and the decision of the Wellington District Committee was correct. The appeal was accordingly dismissed. AGUA CALIENTE TRACK PLANS FOR REOPENING Closed in 1935 by a Government ban on gambling, the Agua Caliente racecourse, where Phar Lap made his famous overseas debut, will be reopened shortly, states the San Francisco Examiner. At the time of the ban the Agua Caliente track had been attached to satisfy a 155,000 dollars wages claim by Mexican, workmen. However, a Presidential order in Mexico City sanctioned the reopening of the lotigcloscd track, and Gene Nonnillo. head of the Los Angeles syndicate which will reopen Agua Caliente, tendered a cheque to pay off the workers' claims. When the track reopens, both pari* mutuel and individual book wagering is to be permitted. L'lans for reopening the race track do not include the reopening of the hotel, golf club, casino, spa and greyhounds track, all of which are under control of another syndicate. The reopened race track will in no way compete with other tracks. Agua Caliente will conduct both a spring and a summer meeting.
