From a barrier start Corowa, Golden Orchid and blaster Limond ran three furlongs in 40}s. Corowa shaded Golden Orchid at the finish, and Master Limond finished about six lengths behind.
Autumn Leaf, Parquet and Golden Hill finished in the order named at the conclusion of half a mile in 54}s. Parquet was slow to find her feet, but was going nicely over the concluding stages. Tout le Monde sprinted three furlongs twice, recording 42 2-5s on both occasions. Tout le Monde is in great heart and should distinguish himself as a hurdler this -winter.

Happy Heels, formerly in S. J. Reid's stable, has joined H. B. Lorigan's team at Trentham. The two-year-old fullbrother to Clessamor had only one race early in the season and was then set aside to mature. S. Wilson will be riding at Hawke's Bay on Saturday, where he has been engaged for Catalogue, Lacquer and Seyfried. Wilson will attend the Otaki meeting next week, and among his rides there are Boomerang, Impersonator, Diamond Cutter and Royal Portrait. Among the recent additions to T. R. George's numerous team at Trentham is a three-year-old filly by the Limond horse Resinous from the Kilbronev — Malt.egardc marc Gardant, She is being trained for Mr. J. Deely, of Wellington, who raced Gardant with considerable success. The rising two-year-old chestnut colt registered as Bombay has been purchased from Mrs. W. D. Graham by Messrs. Forbes Bros., of Wharehina, and thev have changed the name to Namara." Namara is by Lackham from Tikiday, and was purchased by Mrs. Graham at the last National sales. Tikiday is a half-sister by Day Comet to Dungarvan, and never raced. It now transpires that the Hawera colt Settlement, sold a few days ago, is not destined for Australia as was first stated. He has been purchased by Messrs. H. H. and N. Barlow, of Christchurch, and will be trained at Trentham by H. J,origan. The price at which he changed hands is stated to be in the vicinity of £SOO. Settlement ran third at the recent Awapuni meeting and shows distinct promise. A yearling bay filly by Robespierre out of Orange Blossom, thus a halfsister to Silver Ring, has been named Floral Robe by her breeder, Mr. G. Murray Aynsle.v, of Riccarton. Another lillv bv Robespierre from Contempt, has been called Disdain. She is a half-sister I to Silver Scorn. A chestnut gelding bv Robespierre from Muff, the latter a half-sister by Arrowsmith to Silver Scorn, has been named Rebellion. The Vaals two-year-old Vadanoe should not be long in getting out of maiden class. He stood up Captain Furst a considerable amount of ground to run second on the first day of the Pannevirke meeting, and Captain 1< urst appears to be out of the ordinary Vadanoe is out of Idanoe, a Kdbroney mare belonging to one of the original, and best, families at the Stonyhurst Stud.
