Mr. S. Cory-Wright arrived from Wellington by the limited express yesterday. Mr. A. T. Grandison, district employmcnt officer, left for Wellington last night. Mr. G. J. Smith, of Christchurch. returned to the South by the limited express last night. Mr. H. A. Ostler, son of Mr. Justice Ostler, has received a commission in the Royal Air Force. Dr. D. G. McMillan, M.P. for D'.inedin West, is visiting Auckland and is at the Station Hotel. Mr. R. E. Price, conciliation commissioner, left for Wellington last night to attend a conciliation council. Mr. A. S. Richards'and Mr. W. T. Anderton, M.P.'s, returned from Wellington by the limited express yesterday morning. Mr. J. G. Barclay, M.P. for Marsden, was a passenger for Frank ton by the limited express from Wellington yesterday. The Rev. W. Elliott, of Whangarei, has been nominated for the position of moderator of the North Auckland Presbytery. Mr. J. R. Butland,; chairman or the Honey Control Board, returned from Wellington by the limited express yesterday morning. Mr. E. L. Rutledge, general manager tor New Zealand of the Fox Filin Corporation, returned to Wellington by the limited express last night. Mr. K. E. Luke, city engineer of Wellington, expects to'leave shortly for Australia to study modern methods of dealing with municipal problems. The Hon. H. Millington, Minister of Public Works in Western Australia, and Mrs. Millington have returned to Wellington after a visit to Mount Cook.

The Rt. Rev. W. Hi, Baddelev, Bishop of Melanesia, whd has been visiting New Zealand to attend the Anglican General Synod, left "Wellington this week for Sydney.

The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs. Coates arrived in Auckland from Matakohe yesterday afternoon and are at the Grand Hotel. They will leave on their return to the North this afternoon.

Mr. Walter McLay, manager in New Zealand for Bryant and May. Bell and Company, and a director of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition, left. Wellington by the Rangitane last night on a visit to England.

Mr. W. E. G. Paqualin, manager of the Palmerston North branch of the Union Bank of Australia, has been appointed manager in Dunedin. He is succeeded at Palmerston North by Mr. J. B. Stewart, until; -lately manager at Whakatane.

Mr. V. C. McPhail, who for ten years has been produce manager for the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has been appointed chief produce officer for New. Zealand, with headquarters in Wellington.
