WHANGAREI TOURNAMENT

GOSLING WINS THE FINAL PLAY UNDER ELECTRIC LIGHT [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Thursday The North Auckland Bowling Centre's annual full-rink tournament was continued today in fine, overcast weather. The greens played exceptionally well. Coote. of the Whangarei, Club, was the only skip to go through the section play without, a loss, having secured five wins. Davey, of Dargaville, and Blanshard, of Whangarei, each secured four wins and one loss, the latter being eliminated in the final of the section play.

The final was played this evening mider electric light and was won by W. Brown, S. Brown, L. Bray and Gosling (Onehunga). The following aro the results of to-day's games:—

Section I.—-Fourth round: Graham, ltf, v. Orr, 13: Morris, 23, v. Curtis, 10. Filth round: Gosling, 25, v. Morris, 15; Orr, 25, v. Curtis, 10; Stark, 20, v. Graham, 9. Graham, Orr and Gosling tied in this section with threo wins and two losses each. In the play-off Gosling, 9, defeated Graham, 3. and Gosling, 7, defeated Orr, 3, and won the section.

Section 2. —Fourth round: Stark. 20, v. D. Williams, 14; Miller, 25, v. H. Williams, 9; PiK?ott, 19, v. Gosling. 12. Fifth ronnd: D. Williams. 20, v. H. Williams, 16: Picrgott, 14, v. Miller. 10. Stark won the section with four wins and one loss. Sectiorf 3.—Fourth round: Blanshard, Ift, v. Whitehead, 10; .Walker, 19, v. Davey, 14. Fifth round: Davey, 29, v. T. H. Wilson, 10; Walker, 22, v. Blanshard, 19. Blanshard and Davey tied in this section, each with four wins and one loss. In the play-off Davey won by 7 to 5.

Section 4.—Fourth round: Paterson, 25, v. Greville, 12; Huyton. 25. v. Jonnneaux, 12; Coote, 20, v. T. H. Wilson, 0. Fifth round: Huyton, IR, v. Greville, 7; Coote, 17, v. The final will be played this afternoon. HOWICK CLUB'S TOURNEY The Howick Bowling Club's full-rink tournament, which wns postponed last Tuesday, will be held next Thursday. BUCKLAND TOURNAMENT [from our own . correspondent] POKEKOHE, Thursday An open tourney held by tho Buckland Bowling Club proved very successful. Eighteen rinks competed, including a number of visiting teams. Play was in two sections, and the, final between the section-winners resulted:—Forster, Higgins, Rae, E. Wright (Onehunga), 11, v. Faulkner, Buckley, C. Smeed, W. Smced (Tuakau), 5. FRANKTON TOURNEY [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday The final games of tho Frankton Bowling Club's tournament, which had to be discontinued last Saturday owing to the rain, were plaved last evening. Tho tournament, was won by *R. Alker, R. Street, H. Rotherham. and <T. T. Cooaey, who won ail five games.
