AUCKLAND RESIDENCE CHANGES IN PROGRAMME BALL TO BE ABANDONED LADY GALWAY'S HEALTH It is not likely that the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, and Viscountess Gal way will go into residence at Government House, Auckland, for several weeks, owing to Lady Gahvay's recent accident, states an official messago from Wellington.
Their Excellencies' have, therefore, decided, although with great regret, that the children's party, which was to have been held in February, shall bo postponed until some future date, and that the debutantes' ball, which was to have been held during tho term tlicy were next in residence in Auckland, shall be abandoned.
As it is not likely that fliey will bo in Auckland about the time of the coronation, it is Their Excellencies' intention to give, in March, when the weather is likely to bo more favourable, a large garden party, at which they will receive the young ladies who were to have been presented to them at tho ball. The date selected for tho garden party is March 18.
