FINE OF £lO INFLICTED ■!i" OFFENCE BY MAORI [bt telegraph OWN correspondent] KAITAIA, Saturday A Maori, Joe Berghan, was charged in the Kaitaia Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., with obstructing a ranger, H. W. Mcintosh, in tho exercise of his powers.

It was stated that defendant was seen by the ranger shooting at a pheasant out of season. When the ranger attempted to confiscate his gun defendant resisted.

A. fine of £lO, and costs, was imposed, one month being allowed in which to pay.
