BOWLING TITLES

7 DOMINION TOURNEY NO PLAY ON SATURDAY RINKS and pairs games finality likely to-day TBT TELEGRAFH —SPECIAL REPORTER*! •WELLINGTON, Sunday Owing to heavy rain yesterday 110 plav was possible in the New Zealand bowling championships. The weather has been perfect to-day and the final of the rinks and pairs should be completed to-morrow.^ Gray's chances in the rinks arc favoured as ho has two lives and is playing on a green with which he is familiar. However, the Canterbury man, Haworth, is at the helm of a good all-round combination and there are many who consider lie will beat Gray twice. Haworth lost his first game to Martin, Hataitai, 24—1". He won all his next eleven and then had a bye. In these wins ho accounted for N. Bell, Hamilton, by the big margin of 25 points, and among his victims was W. Anderson, Otago, who scored 17 to the winner's-2S. 111 tho thirteenth game Silbery downed the Canterbury representative, who, however, turned the tables when they again met, Silbery scoring 15 to Ha worth's 21. This win put Haworth into tho final with Gray, who has his son as load for him.

Livingstone, Onehunga, is in the serai-final of the pairs with Manning, of Timaru, who is also waiting for his man to emerge from the CommettiTrueman match. If the green rolls out, well in the morning the play should be interesting.

Late yesterday afternoon the pools of water had nearly disappeared and to-day's hot sun should see the grass slightly holding. However, as play progresses, faster conditions may be confidently looked for and Auckland's chances of annexing a title lie with Maclow and Livingstone. The latter won the singles last year and he may add the pairs to his record on this occasion.
