NORTHCOTE SOCIAL

PRESBYTERIAN FUNDS A successful "floral afternoon" was held yesterday in the Presbyterian Half at Northcote. The large attendance included representatives of all the churches and women's organisations in the district. Mrs. S. L. Boot presided. The programme was greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Wyness, Mrs. J. Black and Mrs. Massocks were accompanied in solos and duets by T. .Toll. Elocutionary items wore given by Miss Joyce Smith, and violin solos by Miss J. Johnstone, with Mrs. V. Moller at the piano. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies' committee. A Christmas cake, baked aud donated by Miss Mackay, was gratefully received. A collection was taken up in aid of the funds of the Northcote Presbyterian Church, and the flowers were sold after the items were given, and a substantial sum was raised.
