WEDDING IN INDIA
MOLESWORTH—MILES A wedding of exceptional interest took place at Landi Kotal, states the Peshawar correspondent of the Delhi Statesman. It was that of Brigadier A. L. M. Molesworth, district commander. Landi Kotal Brigade, and Miss Hilda Miles, daughter of Mr. A. H. Miles and Mrs. Miles, of Wellington, New Zealand. The ceremony took place in the brigade gymnasium, whicli was decorated lor the occasion with chrysanthemums and other flowers, the officiating clergy being the Rev. M. A. Xicol, chaplain of St. John's Church, Peshawar, assisted by the Rev. Donald MacDonald, chaplain to the Ist Battalion Cameroninns, stationed in the Khyber. 'I he bands of this regiment provided the music for the service and afterwards at the reception. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. C. C. Miles, looked most attractive in a frock of pale pinkspider web lace with a spray of sweet peas at the waist. She wore a picture hat ol brown tulle and carried a bouquet of carnations. She was attended bv her sister-in-law, Mrs. C. C. Miles, in a golden crepe frock with brown and gold trimmings and a brown straw hat with openwork edge, and by Miss Lindsay Molesworth, the bridegroom's daughter, who wore a gown of blue with a fiuc lace jabot and a white liat. They carried bouquets of yellow chrysanthemums.
When the bride and bridegroom left the building they passed through a guard of honour of 16 swords to the waiting car, in which they were drawn by men of the Cameronums to the lawn of the brigade headquarters mes>. where the reception took place: The popularity of the bridegroom's command at Landi Kotal was demonstrated by the presence of the Maliks of the Khyber area presenting garlands. Among the guests also were officers of the various Indian regiments stationed in Khyber.
