GROWTH OF TRAFFIC PASSENGERS AND FREIGHT (Received October G, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Oct. f> Railway traffic figures show that passenger journeys made on the British railways during the first six months of this year, excluding season-ticket holders, increased compared with the corresponding period of last year by IS, 109,678, or 3.1 per cent. In regard to freight, figures relating to the 28 weeks ended July 11 show an increase compared with the corresponding period of 193 d, of 6,135,509 tons, or 4.2 per cent.
