WAITAKERE DRIVE
TURNING OF FIRST SOD CEREMONY ON FRIDAY The ceremony of turning the first sod in the Waitakere scenic drive is to be performed by His Excellency the Governor-General, Viscount Gal way, at an gathering which is to be held at 3 p.m. on Friday. H'o site chosen for the ceremony is on an eminence in the Blue Mountains estate, adjoining the Glen Eden - Piha road, about a quarter of a mile the Nihotupu post office. Members of the public are invited to he_ present. The speakers, in addition" 1 to Lord Gal way, will be the Mayor. Mr. Ernest Davis, ami the Attorney-General, the Hon. H. G. It. Mason, Invitations to attend the ceremony have boon issued to the Mayors, chairmen and members of all the local authorities who are contributing to the cost of the work.
