EPSOM GIRL GUIDES

A meeting of tho Epsom district Girl Guides was held in St. Andrew's Schoolroom Hall for tho purposo of forming a local association in the district in place of the company committees.

Mrs. H. B. Walton, district commissioner. presided and Mrs. R. J. Coates, provincial commissioner, explained the functioning of tho local association with special reference to the work carried on by local associations throughout England. Dr. Margaret Knight was elected president of the association. The following were appointed to the district executive: —Mrs. H. B. Walton, chairwoman; Miss J. M. Thomson, secretary; Mrs. E. McNair, Mrs. Pilcher, Mrs. W. F. Burns, Mrs. Codlin, Mrs. T. T. Andrews, Mrs. K. Haszard, Miss A. Kelly, Miss A. M. Boyd. A largo number were enrolled as members of the local association.

Following the business portion of the meeting a demonstration of guide work was carried out by tho companies of the district and the sea rangers. The meeting was brought to a close with supper.
