ADULTERATED MILK
Sir, —According to your account of the proceedings at last week's meeting of the Milk Council a statement was there made to the eflcct that a case was on record of a Mount Albert producer-vendor having been repeatedly fined for selling adulterated milk and finally having his licence cancelled. I have bad many years' experience as a producer-vendor in Mount - Albert and have never heard of such a case before. J do not believe the statement and challenge Mr. Hutchison to prove it. If lie can show that any producer of milk in Mount Albeit has been dealt with as stated within the last 40 years I will donate £lO to any charity he cares to nominate. J. Johnson. [The writer evidently has in mind only producer-vendors resident in the Borough of Mount Albert. 1 lie chaii, nan of the Milk Council, Mr. b. W. Hutchison, points out that the report to the council and the subsequent report in the Herald refers to dairymenvendors who delivered milk in Mount Albert, whether they lived within the borough or not. The original challenge of Councillor Kayes referred to the supply of adulterated or milk not up to the standard in Mount Albert.J
