WIRELESS IN HOSPITAL
Sir, —When the authorities instal the new earphones in the hospital I wonder if they could make the hours a little more elastic. In some wards some of the patients, through their different ailments, are unable to go to sleep for hours, extending into the morning, yet they are expected to keep perfectly quiet after lights out (eight o'clock), a condition which is extremely trying and tedious. Since the only jiersons who are kept awake bv the wireless are the ones who have tiie earphones oil, surely it would be possible to let them while awav the dearv hours of wakefulness by listen-ing-in. I hope the powers that be wiTl give this question their due consideration . Patient.
