DISCOVERY BY A BOY

BOTH POSSIBLY HARMLESS

A Mills bomb and a German egg bomb were found to-day by a boy in the reserve in Lower High Street next to the Early Settlers' Hall. Tho boy took the bombs to the Early Settlers' Association, whoso officials promptly delivered them to the police station. The Mills bomb was harmless, the shell containing 110 amonal. The police officials had some doubts about the egg bomb, which is fired by a string-pull, as the mechanism was still intact, but the bomb did not appear to contain powder. Both bombs will, in a short time, find their way to the bottom of Otago Harbour.
