CLYDESDALES' SUCCESS

SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW NEW ZEALAND-BRED HORSES (Received April 7, 7.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 7 The Sydney Royal Show was to-day seriously marred by heavy, drenching rain. However, the judging of horses, fruit, poultry and other district exhibits went on without interruption. New Zealarid-bred Clydesdales, as in former years, figured largely and successfully, in tho Clydesdale stallion sections gaining first awards in two, threo and tinder four-year-old classes. Second and third awards were also won in the two and three-year-old classes. The champion prize went to the New South Wales Department of Agriculture, and tho reserve champion prize to Mr. A. Stokes' "Noblo Douglas" imported from New Zealand. Tho judge in tho Clydesdale classes was Mr. W. Carruthcrs, of Lanark, Scotland. Winooka, the former champion sprinter, won first prize for tho champion thoroughbred stallion.
