BUILDING AT PUKEKOHE
NEW BUSINESS PREMISES MUCH ACTIVITY DURING YEAR [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Tuesday The building; permits issued by the Pukekohe Borough Council for the year ended March 31 last were for work valued at £20,808 as against permits valued at £6631 in the previous year. The year has been a particularly busy one for the building trade at Pukekohe, the increased value of the permits being largely accounted for by the erection of a number of new business premises in King Street. The number of permits issued for new buildings and additions was 49, as compared with 36 in the previous year. The principal buildings erected have included new premises for the Union Bank of Australia, Limited, new premises for Beehive Stores, Limited, extensive additions for Messrs. Cooper and Curd, Limited, the Farmers' Trading Company, Limited, and the Pukekohe Hotel. A large new brick building, which will include new garage premises, is also in the course of erection by the Graham Estate at the corner of King Street and Massey Avenue.
