SEASON'S SHEEP TRAFFIC [by telkghaph OWN corrkspondknt] TATJHANGA, Tuesday In his report to the Tauranga Harbour Board, the harbourmaster stated that sheep traffic for the current season ended with a shipment of 2000 head last month. A total of 52,000 sheep had been landed over the wharf this season and the various interested parties had all expressed satisfaction and appreciation with the yarding and trucking facilities supplied by the board. The tender of Millars' Timber and Trading Company (Overseas), Limited Auckland, was accepted for the supply of turpentine piles for the Salisbury Avenue Wharf. The Mount Maunganui Town Board wrote advocating that a launch should leave Tauranga for Mount Maunganui daily at 5.90 p.m. as a convenience for business people and train passengers. The Town Board asked if the Harbour Board would grant the proprietors o/ the ferry service a subsidy toward the special boat. The Harbour Board decided to contribute £lO for one year toward a service throughout the year, the launch to leave Tauranga daily at 5.30 p.m.
