INJURY TO WRIST
CLAIM BY WATERSID ER COMPENSATION REFUSED Finding that the plaintiff had not established that he had suffered any permanent disability, Mr. Justice Page gave judgment for the defendant in the Arbitration Court yesterday in the case in which George Kelly, of Auckland, waterside worker (Mr. Sullivan), claimed compensation from his employers, Leonard and Dingley, Limited, stevedores (Air. Richmond). The plaintiff fractured his right wrist while assisting to load cargo at Prince's Wharf on August 16 of last year. He claimed he was disabled from earning wages from that date. He was paid weekly compensation by the company at the rate of £3 3s 7d until November 22, 1935. The company refused to pay further compensation and he claimed £3 3s 7d a week as from November 22 to the date of the hearing, and such lump sura as might be shown to be reasonable.
