INJURIES PROVE FATAL
DEATH OF PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR Injured through being struck by a motor-car near the junction of Great South Road and Manukau Road on Sunday night, an elderly man, Mr. John W. Beeston, of Epsom, died in the Auckland Hospital early this morning. Mr. Beeston was crossing Manukau Road near the intersection about 9.30 on Sunday night, when a motor-car travelling from the direction of Newmarket toward Onehunga, struck him as he reached the tram lines and knocked him down. Mr. Beeston, who received a fracture of the skull and other injuries, was attended to by Dr. M. G, Pezaro and then taken to the hospital by a St. John ambulance. The driver of the motor-car, for whom the police made a search, subsequently reported the accident at the Newmarket police station.
