IS THIS YOUR IDEA? During the past few years American magazines such as Tho Ladies' Homo Journal and Tho Home Beautiful have published /numerous illustrations of model flats and homos. How many people have admired tho dainty tiled bathrooms in pastel shades and with chromium appointments. Tho beautifully designod kitchens with smooth tiled walls and attractive sink and bench tops that will not chip your dainty china. A superabundance of cupboards and drawers. A servcrv that saves many steps, and all finished in pleasing colours and with a surface that 111 a,y be kept spotless with a damp cloth. Thou the living room and bedrooms with restful coloured papors. Rooms that can be thrown open to tho air by extensive windows whiqh admit a flood of sunshine and are set low so that the view may be enjoyed from a comfortable chair. Mirrored wardrobes, almost largo enough to walk into. A linen cupboard that is airy and spacious, and moro storage cupboards for bags and boxes and coal and wood, than are likely to be tho conveniences that go to making tho homo comfortable. Auckland residents will bo interested to know that twenty-two flats with all these desirable features, and other innovations such as a spare bed that'disappears underneath the large wardrobe and can bo wheeled into another room in a few seconds, are being erected in St. Georges Bay Road by Messrs. Earlys, Limited. These flats, each of which has a separate entrance, will bo known as "St. Georges Flats," and four are now ready for occupation. Other blocks of four flats each will be completed every few fecks. They aro situated in a most select locality, a few doors below the Parnoll Library, and have beautiful views and a sunny northern aspect. To the tram stop is only on,' minute's walk.
