AUCKLAND, ASSOCIATION NEW GROUND AT CLAUDELANDS [from our own correspondent] ' HAMILTON, Monday The ftrea inside the trotting course at tho Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association's showgrounds at Claudelands ie being converted into ft polo ground for the Auckland Provincial Polo Association, which hns arranged for a lease of the property, The work involves the levelling of the area and the replacement and ploughing of tho top-soil. A considerable amount of under-surfaoo drainage has also been done. The surface soil will bo reduced to a fine tilth and will be sown in grasa this month. In addition to tho 15 acres required for tho use of the Polo Association four acros at the southern end ar« being levelled and grassed for show purposes. The work being done for the Polo Association will cost most of which has been raised by public subscription. When the work is completed the associaiton will have one of the finest polo grounds in New Zealand. Arrangements are being made to play some important matches on tho ground in the winter. CAMERON CUP CHALLENGE CAMBRIDGE BEATS TE AWAMUTU [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Monday Tho Cambridge Polo Club's challenge for the Cameron Cup, held by the Te Awamtitu Polo Club, was played on Saturday after noon on Mr. A. Kay's ground at Orakau. The visitors won by six goals to one. The trams were: —Cambridge: K. Poake, G. Peake, H. Nolan, and G. Vosper. To Awamutu: Dick Kay, Allan Kay, Lyall Kay and Len. Kay.
